At City Sealcoating, we believe in the importance of uplifting the communities we service. We
rally employees and local volunteers to put their time and energy towards making a difference in
Merrimack Valley.

Here are a few ways City Sealcoating gives back to the community:
Picking up the pieces after the Merrimack Valley gas explosions
The “Armageddon” – a series of sudden gas explosions in 2018 – shook Merrimack Valley to the
core. With so many injured, displaced or evacuated, the residents of Lawrence, North Andover
and Andover needed as much help as possible. We worked directly with the Lawrence Senior
Center to gather food, water, clothes, baby food, gift cards and other donations for the
community. Together, we were able to organize and disperse supplies to those in need.
Hosting high school interns
An internship is one of the best ways for a young adult to gain the experience needed for the workforce. Finding an internship, though, isn’t always easy. We’ve partnered with Lawrence High School to hire students who work directly in our office. Over the course of the year, they
gain the business skills needed for a bright future. When many residents of Lawrence face unemployment and poverty, we’re proud to host this opportunity and make a difference.
Sponsoring soccer teams
So many potential athletes are unable to participate in a team due to the costs of uniforms and
equipment. Price should never be a barrier. City Sealcoating sponsors soccer teams in Lawrence
and helps cover the costs of cleats and uniforms. Players who could never afford the sporting
equipment, clothing, or cleats are now able to give it their all on the field.
Uplifting local veterans
Those who served our country deserve the love and support of their communities, but many veterans struggle with homelessness and food insecurity. We want to do our part, so we regularly donate pallets of food to those in need.
Investing in Lawrence’s future
Keith Chaney, the owner of City Sealcoating, truly believes in elevating the city of Lawrence.
That’s why he participates in Lawrence Leads, a program hosted by Lawrence Partnership. As a
civic organization, Lawrence Partnership aims to revitalize the city and boost its economic
growth. Lawrence Leads is a development program that helps local leaders develop the tools needed for growth. Employees and business owners are able to bring the skills they learned back to their companies and work to build up the city from within.
